- Jed is from New Hampshire. His family are in fact New Hampshire Bartlet's.
- He's a devout Catholic.
- He's married to Abbey, a thoracic surgeon.
- They have three daughters - Liz, Ellie and Zoey - and two grandchildren - Annie and Gus.
- His great grandfather's great grandfather signed the Declaration Of Independence.
- His grandmother taught English to the children of Italian stone masons, in return the stone mason's built her a small school.
- His parents are both dead. His father didn't like Jed because Jed was smarter than him.
- He has a brother called Jonathan.
- His friendship with Leo goes back over 40 years.
- The Bartlet's own a farm in Manchester, NH.
- In 1993, Jed was diagnosed with a relapsing-remitting course of multiple sclerosis.
- On 7th August 2000 he was shot in the side at Rosslyn, luckily the bullet 'seemed to go out of its way not to hit anything'.

- Jed attended a boarding school where his father was the principle.
- He then attended Notre Dame and the London School Of Economics.
- He's a Noble Prize winning economist.
- He worked as an economics professor
- He served three terms in the House Of Representatives and two terms as Governor Of New Hampshire.
- Jed became president on 20th January 1999.

- While in Congress he voted against the New England Dairy Farming Compact, even though is hurt many of his constituents, because he didn't want to make it harder for people to buy milk.
- He's never lost an election in his life.
- He says he never intended to win the Democrat nomination in 1998, he only joined the race to keep Hoynes honest.
- His Secret Service codename is Eagle.
- When playing sports with the staff, Jed has a tendency to cheat by bringing in ringers.
- He enjoys tormenting his staff and family with inane trivia.
- He speaks Latin.
- He believes you only need to win by one vote and the rest is just ego.
- He likes nothing more than the site of colleagues enjoying each other company outside of work.
- He's visited every national park in America.
